Bishop Flaget Council was founded in 2001 through the efforts of Knights who had moved into the area and found themselves miles away from their home council, and was chartered on February 5, 2002. It is named after Bishop Benedict Joseph Flaget, who was the First Bishop of Bardstown, KY. The Council serves parishes in eastern Jefferson County including St. Patrick, St. Margaret Mary, St. Albert, St. Bernadette and Ascension, among others. In the three years since its inception, Bishop Flaget Council has achieved Star Council twice. The Council currently has approximately 80 members.
Mission
We, the men of Bishop Flaget Council,
in fellowship with our Brother Knights,
our parishes, families and nation;
value our Catholic faith,
the sanctity of human life,
the promotion of strong family life,
acceptance of and respect for others,
and compassion for those in need.
We seek justice in our parishes,
community and nation,
especially for the unborn,
those with disabilities,
and people living with infirmities
who cannot protect themselves.
We pledge to help those we can.
We strive to honor these values
in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
